copied comment from 220volt74 : In the US, sports are family events. You bring your family, get some hot dogs, and enjoy the show. A Disneyland basically. In Europe, you put on your armor, say goodbye to your loved ones, and tell your fellow warriors that if you should fall to tell your sons that you died with honor.

Mexican fans are wild too. I went to a Juarez FC match in Ciudad Juárez, MX. My wife and I sat in the hooligan section and they were wild. Had drums going, started shooting off bottle rockets, then Juarez FC won and went to the finals of the Mexican Cup. Even though we won our fans still tried to fight supporters of the other team and got ahold of their coach and gave him a shiner. Crazy stuff but a good time. Lol

The scene with the fire is from Greece. You can see the flags on the left corner. And no it's not legal or safe. Many times the government had to punish teams and ban their fans from attending the games but is a regular occurrence in European games.

  55. Erkki Nikunen

    Erkki NikunenPrieš 13 dienų

Difference in my opinion is, that the European fans are for their own team and making noise for that. -In the USA, you are rooting for the country, so the premise is very different. No one in Europe is screaming for the flag of the country in a football match, only for their own team.

That's weird how americans often dance/jump to very generic mainstream pop songs, rather than having original songs created for their clubs by the fans themselves. Each song more generic than the one before, like there is no club identity

Love watching NHL, and noticed it’s often dull atmosphere, trying to get fans on fire with instructions “make some noice” or “clap your hands” , also not a big fan of kiss cams or cheerleaders. On the other hand, I find it cool to see fans of different NHL teams seating peacefully next to each other, looks there are more women and families in the stands than in Europe. In terms of ice-hockey atmosphere, there isn’t big difference between NA & Russia, but when comparing NA with fe Czech rep, Germany or Slovakia, it’s two different worlds. Remember 2000 Wolfsburg Grizzlies fans in a nothing game made more noice than 15-20000 in some NHL arenas.
